About the Role
Miale Solar is seeking a highly skilled Asset Manager to oversee the performance, maintenance, and optimization of our solar PV and energy storage assets. The role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and long-term asset value.


Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the commercial, financial, and operational performance of renewable energy assets
• Ensure compliance with project agreements, regulatory requirements, and lender obligations
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including regulators, shareholders, and local partners
• Monitor performance of solar PV and BESS systems
• Diagnose and resolve operational faults and system alarms
• Lead and supervise the O&M team and field technicians
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
• Ensure availability of tools, spare parts, and consumables
• Analyze system performance data and recommend optimization solutions
• Conduct site audits and assess asset conditions
• Provide performance reports and act as the technical contact post-commissioning
• Support client escalations, system upgrades, and technical improvements
• Prepare and manage O&M budgets and track costs
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all sites
• Drive initiatives to optimize asset performance and project returns


Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience managing and optimizing renewable energy assets (solar PV, BESS, or similar)
• Strong understanding of performance monitoring systems, SCADA, and data acquisition tools
• Knowledge of energy production metrics and performance analysis
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical information
• Excellent organizational and project management skills

TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER

About the Role
Miale Solar is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support the Business Development team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. The role focuses on solution design, proposal development, and client engagement from a technical perspective, ensuring that all solutions are accurate, competitive, and aligned to client needs. This is a pre-sales focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys designing solutions and supporting deal conversion rather than direct sales hunting.


Key Responsibilities
i. Support the Business Development team in evaluating client requirements and proposing suitable solar PV and BESS solutions
ii. Prepare technical proposals, system designs, and cost estimates aligned with client needs
iii. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform solution design
iv. Work closely with BD to develop competitive bids, tenders, and client presentations
v. Translate technical designs into clear, client-friendly proposals and documentation
vi. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility
vii. Provide technical input during client meetings, presentations, and negotiations
viii. Review client requirements and ensure alignment with technical specifications and project scope
ix. Support handover of projects to implementation teams with complete and accurate documentation
x. Maintain a repository of standard designs, templates, and technical documentation
xi. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and product developments

Qualifications & Experience
 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
 2–5+ years’ experience in a technical, engineering, or pre-sales role within the energy/solar sector
 Strong understanding of solar PV systems and energy storage (BESS)
 Experience in system sizing, design, and proposal development
 Familiarity with design tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar is an added advantage
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
 Good communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for clients
 Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously
 Collaborative and team-oriented, with ability to work closely with BD and engineering teams

JOB PURPOSE (ROLE)
As the CFO at Miale Solar, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the company’s growth and sustainability in the renewable energy sector. You will lead the development of financial policies, oversee financial operations, and provide strategic insights to enhance both profitability and stakeholder value while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
FUNCTIONS
 – Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute innovative corporate and project finance strategies to secure funding for Miale Solar and its projects, driving long-term growth and maximizing shareholder value in the renewable energy market.
Financial Strategy and Planning: Lead the design and implementation of financial strategies to ensure the profitability and financial viability of Miale’s solar projects, aligning with the company’s overall objectives and vision for sustainable energy.
PPA Appraisals and Investment Analysis: Lead the appraisal of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), conducting thorough investment analysis to evaluate the financial terms, risks, and returns. Assess the long-term viability of PPA contracts and ensure alignment with Miale’s strategic financial goals.
Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies, acting as the key point of contact for all financial matters.
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and proactively addressing financial challenges while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Resource Management: Manage the allocation and optimization of financial resources, including project financing, working capital management, and cash flow forecasting, to support Miale’s growth initiatives.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Direct the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Investment Appraisals: Lead the evaluation of new investment opportunities, including conducting financial models and risk assessments for both PPA contracts and other potential investments, to inform key decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure Miale Solar adheres to all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry best practices, with a particular focus on the renewable energy sector’s evolving financial landscape.
ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
– Fully licensed CPA or ACCA in Kenya; ICPAK membership required.
– Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 3 years in the energy, infrastructure, or renewable sector.
– Strong knowledge of project finance, debt structuring, and capital expenditure planning.
– Advanced skills in financial modelling, particularly in DCF analysis for solar and infrastructure projects.
– Established relationships with financial institutions relevant to financing renewable energy projects
