JOB PURPOSE (ROLE)
The Technical Sales Manager leads the development and sales of solar energy solutions across commercial and industrial markets. This role manages both the Portfolio Development and Sales teams, ensuring alignment between market needs, technical feasibility, and commercial success. The role is responsible for building a robust project pipeline, enhancing client engagement, and delivering bankable proposals that meet client and company objectives
FUNCTIONS
-Provide strategic leadership to the Sales and Portfolio Development teams, ensuring collaboration and high performance.
– Oversee the identification, qualification, and conversion of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar leads into contracted projects.
– Direct the evaluation of new opportunities from both technical and commercial perspectives.Ensure all proposals are aligned with company standards, client objectives, and regulatory requirements.
– Supervise the development of accurate, customized proposals including system designs, energy savings models, and business cases.
– Lead client meetings, presentations, and contract negotiations, serving as the technical-commercial focal point.
– Work with internal departments (engineering, procurement, finance) to validate proposal assumptions and pricing.
– Establish sales KPIs and monitor pipeline performance, conversion rates, and project viability metrics.
– Support go-to-market planning and refinement of sales strategies in response to market trends.
– Identify new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, service innovations, or new client segments.
– Manage and mentor team members within both Sales and Portfolio Development functions.
– Allocate resources across deals, proposals, and strategic initiatives based on priority and ROI potential.
– Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skills development plans.
– Promote a client-centric, results-driven culture across the team.

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, or a related technical field.
– MBA or postgraduate business qualification preferred.
– Minimum of 7 years of experience in solar project development, technical sales, or renewable energy consulting, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
– Proven track record managing both technical proposal teams and direct sales staff.
– Strong understanding of C&I and/or utility-scale solar systems, financing structures (e.g., PPA, CAPEX, lease), and policy frameworks.
– Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
– Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), proposal management, and solar design tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope).
– Familiarity with Kenya’s energy landscape, renewable incentives, and market trends

JOB PURPOSE (ROLE)
As the CFO at Miale Solar, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the company’s growth and sustainability in the renewable energy sector. You will lead the development of financial policies, oversee financial operations, and provide strategic insights to enhance both profitability and stakeholder value while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
FUNCTIONS
 – Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute innovative corporate and project finance strategies to secure funding for Miale Solar and its projects, driving long-term growth and maximizing shareholder value in the renewable energy market.
Financial Strategy and Planning: Lead the design and implementation of financial strategies to ensure the profitability and financial viability of Miale’s solar projects, aligning with the company’s overall objectives and vision for sustainable energy.
PPA Appraisals and Investment Analysis: Lead the appraisal of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), conducting thorough investment analysis to evaluate the financial terms, risks, and returns. Assess the long-term viability of PPA contracts and ensure alignment with Miale’s strategic financial goals.
Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies, acting as the key point of contact for all financial matters.
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and proactively addressing financial challenges while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Resource Management: Manage the allocation and optimization of financial resources, including project financing, working capital management, and cash flow forecasting, to support Miale’s growth initiatives.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Direct the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Investment Appraisals: Lead the evaluation of new investment opportunities, including conducting financial models and risk assessments for both PPA contracts and other potential investments, to inform key decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure Miale Solar adheres to all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry best practices, with a particular focus on the renewable energy sector’s evolving financial landscape.
ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
– Fully licensed CPA or ACCA in Kenya; ICPAK membership required.
– Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 3 years in the energy, infrastructure, or renewable sector.
– Strong knowledge of project finance, debt structuring, and capital expenditure planning.
– Advanced skills in financial modelling, particularly in DCF analysis for solar and infrastructure projects.
– Established relationships with financial institutions relevant to financing renewable energy projects
